Well it's here, good ole Friday, what do we planned this weekend for our trains? For me, I have to work so I don't know what I will get done. I want to add a siding to an industry if I can get the material in between work also I would like to add another yard track. Getting too many cars and I'm tired of shelving some to run others, what a dilemma, of course if I can't get the track, I will probably build a car or two, yes more cars.- I also have my fuel facility I can finish. Don't forget to run trains!- Everyone have a great weekend!-
As I have been on annualleave i have been doing quite a lot of work and operating the layout. This weekend myself, Flash and Jason are going to a model railroad exhibition here in Sydney. I will post pics after we have been.
for the next two weekends, I'm volunteering to help with an exhibition at the Mounatin State Forest Festival with my Model Railroad club.
Not sure what modeling will get done this weekend. I have a full plate of commitments and chores. Saturday is Homecoming for the Drexel Hill Raiders AA. My daughter will be cheering and participating in other related activities on Saturday. On Sunday my son’s football team (Drexel Hill Raiders Pee Wee AA) will take on the Collingdale Bulldogs. Hopefully DHR will bounce back from last week. At home we need to close up and winterize the swimming pool. Also I have some ceiling repairs to continue working on. If I get a chance to model I hope to work on the Athearn blue box B&O 200 ton crane. Also I would like to start my renumbering and weathering project on the IHC 0-8-0 Switcher I have. Maybe I might even paint some more detail parts if I am real lucky.
I am out of ballast so I need to go to the train store and pick up a few bags. and do more ballasting. also work on more secenery. Mike
I would like to continue with track laying. The sad reality is that I am likely to accomplish nothing on my layout this weekend or next week. We have a football game tonight. We are going to the Texas Renaissance Festival tomorrow with our son the college student. I have an 11 AM flight to Philadelphia on Sunday, and I do not return home until Friday evening. Good luck to everyone with their weekend modeling efforts.
Looks like a few things: - I'll be painting my mountain's new extension in preperation for ground cover (whatever that may turn out to be) - Probably ballasting in a few more places, especially around the switches - Auto rack decals - Auto detailing (for those new racks) - Maybe get into paint removal on some on my stock cars for their transition to BN The wife leave's for vacation Saturday, so I'll have basically the whole weekend to work on my layout.
I am going to a G scale meet tomorrow (saturday), then a band concert saturday evening. Sunday we have friends coming over for a meal and visit, so I don't expect much to get done on the layout (Should have a great weekend, though)
I've been trying to fab some quick mock-ups of buildings for my industries and engine servicing area, and will probably continue with that effort. As long as it's taking me to make mock-ups, I can't wait to see how long it will take me to build the real thing. I'd also like to get started making some decisions on scenery contours. When you've got a lot crammed in a little area it makes it a real challenge to get the contours to look anything like the real world. But hey, I'm not really in a hurry to finish. I can actually run trains now! Regards Ed
It is still 15 days till I move into my new place. I guess I'll spend the weekend day dreaming designs, skimming the web for N scale things, and packing to move, (plech).
Grey, It is great to dream of your layout that way it is easy to change things around One thing I always enjoy is just grabbing a piece of paper and a pencil and designing your layout. I still have original sketches of my layout when I first decided to build mine.
On the off chance that I get time, I plan to start carving the foam that we put down a few nights ago- Add a stream and a few ground shapes.
