It was down for me all day, until maybe ~10:30 PM. Man, I didn't know how much time I spend on this board, until it wasn't available. I missed y'all!!!
It was down during the business hours then was available after 5PM and all day to day. I'm putting the reason on the national carrier I use. We out of the big business area get very weak service. Not as they advertise. Maybe this Board is in such an area.
It has been a while, so here are some update shots of my NACAR hauler. I painted these items 24 hours ago and just this morning removed the liquid mask as well as the masking tape that I had applied. The black items will be chromed either with the MOLOTOW that I have or a new chrome from (GSW) Green Stuff World that is enroute. I will do some testing before I decide which one to use. These images were just made and yes there are some places that need attention. Overall view : Need to do some work around the tool boxes : The top of the framing around the door is not level, I can't decide if it is worth removing to apply another one. Thoughts ? ? Thans for looking, be well !!!
Wow, that thing is BIG. On the rear frame, could you possibly just cut either A: a fill in piece to even it up, or B: a thin sheet to just overlap the entire width?
It looks bad in the photo but may not be so obvious in person. If it's not obvious or the back of the trailer will not be seen when it's on the layout I would leave it alone. If it's obvious or just bothers you knowing it's not quite right then fix it. If it was my trailer I would leave it as is.
Thanks for all the thoughts. I have already removed and put a new one on. More sanding and re-paint, maybe just the end doorway..
Jeff - but I would have known! Thanks for the comment! Yesterday, I was goofing around on the internet and look at what I found. This is not the hauler for #34 but I suspect all haulers are pretty much the same, so some nice roof details to follow : Head end of trailer, all I have is one grill that will be all I can apply : Tail end showing handrails lying down for transit, no prob with using N scale railings : Thanks to all for looking and commenting which gives me a kick start ! ! !
Now, I’m not saying this would be a bad thing - I know iRacing in particular laser scans the vehicles they put in their game.
Richard, No I am not going to rearrange The trailer axles. That was one of my issues with using this trailer but the printer does not do a NASCAR hauler version. I have not found any 3D printers that offer a hauler trailer. This is actually smaller than the Featherlite haulers are, not by much. One thing I have learned from surfing the net is there are several, maybe many, versions of these haulers. All I see now are the split axle versions but here is something I found on the Featherlite web page. Check out the door and window : Alas, I'll just have to work with what I have, but it will be unique. I do have a question - how in the heck do they keep these things upright with all the weight in the top?
That looks like it would work just fine. I don't get to the races anymore. I was more into the road courses. Elkhart Lake and Black Hawk Farms. Mainly motorcycles and sedans. Retirement in 2000 has slowed that way down.
