Saturday 9AM to 5PM and Sunday 9AM to 3PM at the Blair County Convention Center. I usually see at least MK Mike, the Inkaneer, and DJ's Trains there.
I'll be there, mostly harassing the BANTRAK and TTrak folks as well as a few vendors I know personally.
Good prediction Sepp K! I'll be there for the whole event with my camera ready at my side. Just got back from 15 days in Japan. I was going to start a thread documenting my trip as I went, a la Mark St. Clair on his trips to conventions. BUT, it was just too much sensory overload...and this was just the N-Scale scene over there. All I can say is that it turned into a trip of a lifetime. With the dollar so strong, things were incredibly cheap. I got to ride the Shinkansen many times doing 185 MPH (phone app) and of course I came home with trains. If it weren't for the luggage space and time constraint I would have been broke as there are things there you can't get in the US and for some they were half the price! Maybe I'll start a separate thread next week when I recover from the euphoria and jet lag. I took plenty of pictures inside hobby shops so you guys can drool. Just to get you started, I went to a shop in Tokyo with FIVE stories of N-scale!
We are counting on you for the group portrait, last year's was the best yet. Looking forward to seeing your snaps from Japan, when you recover from Altoona.
Didn't you just move from Japan after many years being there? I'm confused Or I have the wrong person?
Unfortunately, not this year... next year is at least theoretically possible, although the National N Scale Convention will be in Bethlehem in June...
Some pictures of our Capital PenNScalers layout coming together at the Altoona N Scale Weekend, and one of our neighbors, BANTRAK. The show is all N scale and runs tomorrow the 16th 9AM to 5PM and Sunday 9AM to 3PM.
