MTL will be offering straight sections, power feed track and curved track (195mm) in the next month or two. Turnouts will be released next year. I have had a chance to play with the track and it is very nice! Rob Kluz
I did not get to play with it, but I seen a figure 8 laid with it, and it does look real nice. -Robert
Not that I am aware of. It may happen next year when the turnouts are released. The figure eight shown during the NTS was done through the use of a bridge over the lower track. Rob
Hi! Are the rail joiners similar to Kato Unitrack? I hope they're stronger than the current MTL and Marklin rail joiners. Doug
I have seen the track on ebay already, so it must be out. I heard we only have 10 days till the GP35 is out too. -Robert
Are there any good close up photos of the tracks on the internet? I have checked micro-trains.com, but can only find pictures of the tracks in the packages.
Thanks. i was most curious about the rail joiners. I had a hope that they was of the same type as the Märklin H0 C-track, which actually has no rail joiners, but has the electrical connection in the roadbed joiners. They are very easy for small kids to put together. But I can see now that the MT track also has ordinary rail joiners.
4Nscale has the new MT Z scale track listed on it's website. Unfortunately there aren't any photo's. Rio Grande Hobbies - 4Nscale Stay cool and run steam....
Z Scale Monster has posted photos. The link is: http://www.zscalemonster.com/mt/track/micro-track.htm The track looks great and the price is quite good! Rob Kluz
Well, I finally have all my track coming, but I'm wondering how I'm going to adhere it to my "pink insulation" board that is covering my layout? Liquid Nails? Really long braids to go thru the pink and into the plywood?
I like to use Walthers Goo to glue down track, although I have never held the new MTL track in my hands so I don't know how flat it is on the bottom. Maybe some squares of that double sticky back foam tape will work, 1 piece per section or something? If it's real flat on the bottom, you could also use "carpet tape" which is a double sticky back thin tape. Not a foam tape, but they use it to splice carpet pieces together. I have bought it at K-Mart, Lowes, and Home Depot, but any hardware store should have it. Made by 3M. And you can peel it off with minimal work! -Robert
Kurt, What I'm going to use is called "RoseArt Washable Glue Stick". You can find it cheap in any K-Mart or Wal-Mart. I've used it on my O gauge layout and it secures things well without any mess. I have a MTL Starter Track Set on the way from Anthony at Z Scale Monster. I'm looking forward to it! Doug
