Hello I can't program a soundfile on the new ESU LokSound 5 Direct Kato (58741) with the my LokProgrammer. After a progress of 25% the process is canceled and it says that it can`t write the data. That is my only decoder of this kind. I have tested it with different files in different locomotives without success. Programming other LokSound decoders ist no problem. Has anyone had a similar problem? Do I have to change something in the file so that I can write it to the LokSound 5 Direct Kato? Christian
The LP software should make the change for the decoder automatically. Make sure you have the most recent version of the software, though, and manually select the decoder in the drop down on the tab.
I've setup a couple of those decoders and never an issue. Are you uploading a new sound project or adjusting existing settings? I infer you are uploading a new sound project. If I am correct then is the file a "loksound select" file? What version of the lokprogrammer software are you using? Is it the latest version (5.1.6)? Depending on your answers and once you have verified you have the latest version of the lokprogrammer installed on your computer try creating a new project but when prompted at startup select "modify settings of an esu decoder" then see if it reads the decoder and are able to make adjustments and verify changes through the "Driver's cab" feature. If that works ok note the project type in the tab just below the main menu to the right of the upload buttons. Now open the .esux file you want to upload in a new instance of lokprogrammer then compare project types. If it is different select the matching project type and see if it allows you to do that without error. If different and does allow you to change save that project and try uploading then.
I bought another decoder and this one works fine. So the first one seems to be defcet. I think LokSound 5 doesn't have this distinction anymore.
