Welcome back everyone. I hope all the Dad's out there had a great Father's Day and maybe got some modeling in. Let's get started. Saturday: Was the first day I was truly outside in a week since my hospital stay. I did okay but before that I played around in the train room. I think I'm going to commit to this track plan. I helped my older brother with his truck then we enjoyed a nice German dinner. Sunday: Ang and I took the Mustang out and met her Dad with his Cobra Mustang at the car show. My brother was there as well. This establishment was hosting it's first car show and based on the attendance, I would say it was a success. Lot's of nice vehicles there but my favorite was the 1966 Ford Fairlane GTA. After the car show, Ang and I went to her Dad's and we recovered from the heat and then had an enjoyable dinner for Father's Day. The evening was topped off with a relaxing ride in the Mustang with a beautiful sunset, Led Zeppelin on the radio and my girl next to me. A great finish to the weekend. So how about you? What did you get accomplished this past weekend? Let us know. We'll start the process all over again this Friday, for me from the heart of Galesburg IL, for Galesburg RR Days. Until then, have a great week, be safe, stay healthy and as always... High Greens!
Continued building benchwork components. With numerous beveled edges and dadoes, it all gets pretty confusing and I messed up on several leg pieces. The error will be hard to see when assembly is complete, but I'll try to make repairs to assure strength. If I can't fix them, I have enough lumber to make new ones.
Modeling wise, finished up a couple of N scale vehicles and worked on some roof top details for the grain elevator. Non modeling, lots of honey do's and spent a good deal of time helping my son on his eagle project. He needed to build his example so he will have it ready for explain what needs to be done when he has a group of scouts working for him over the next couple of weekends. It went well and I think we both learned a few things Hope everyone has a great week!
My weekend went as expected -- which was very well. Friday night's "train night" was a lot of fun. My friend has made great progress on his On30 layout. Saturday's Opp session went well. The NYO&W worked great. Saturday afternoon I finished up another F7 set - SP DF-3 class. Sunday - started another F7 set. SP DF-4 class. The DF-3 A-B-B-A: Hope Y'all had a great weekend, Wolf
Greetings all… this past weekend: 1. Did a little work on the HM Meyers building Saturday. Didn’t do too much. I got diverted watching NC State beat Stanford in the College Word Series game. 2. Sunday I managed to clean out a large recess I created over the stairs that will be an extension to Albemarle City. I’ve been using it as storage fir paint, tools, and schtuff. Before/After shots in thumbnails:
Good morning all, My weekend went about as planned with most of my time taken up by getting ready for a camping trip this week. I did run some locomotives on the layout that had recently gotten decoders installed in them.
Didn’t accomplish as much Sunday morning as I wanted to, oh well. Overall, another 5 cars have been finished and added to Staging track 14. I am almost done with assembly of a Front Range 40’ Boxcar, so that should get on the rails sooner than later. This may be a shorter week at work than normal, so there may be an opportunity next weekend to make some serious headway on clearing up the backlog at the workbench. Took it easy this weekend. Did a little gardening and a few small home projects, the kind you can do in less than an hour. I did not get any modeling done. I did get to run some trains and cleared off some of the stuff that was accumulating on the layout.
Friday night did some assembly work on some models to get them ready for painting. I also found a couple of Ready to Repair IMRC 57’ Reefers while looking for something else on both cars the weights had broken loose from the lousy CA glue job so I gooded them in and re-attached all the small parts that had broken off. Saturday we had our club meeting and then an operating session. I was assigned the local which had to switch the plastics plant I had just finished and installed on the layout. Neglected to take a picture of the installed plant. Later went to a Father’s Day dinner with my son and his wife at my nieces restaurant. Sunday I painted a trailer and a bunch of roofs with silver paint and then added a few drops of green to paint a pseudo covered hopper car. Also did some decals on a couple of cars and started building an ECW depressed center flat car. Rick Jesionowski
The local paving vendor began laying out roads and parking lots in and around the layout. This is 1mm craft foam that will be colored to match asphalt in a variety of stages of aging. Still need to finish the basic land forms then we shall finish up this corner.
More great progress shown above. Glad to be able to say that I have the front cornice section attached to the top wall. Two side sections to go. I have committed to continue working if I don't get distracted. All have a great week!
Had a great weekend overall. Saturday I did get started on the next revision of boiler for UP 2295. No photo to share. Imagine a piece of round, brass stock, about a 1/2" in diameter. Sunday morning my son joined us for a walk and then lunch. In the afternoon we had a long Facetime chat with my daughter. Then some Carne' Asada and a margarita for dinner. A good day! Stay safe,
Well, too many little chores. I did get a new fishing pole and reel all set up for use. Scanned a bunch more of my slides. And picked up mail which contained several kits I had ordered. Those are now unpacked and sitting on the work bench, awaiting...
Full disclosure, this picture was to document the pony tail's final days. I will be updating the profile soon with the current look. Stay safe,
I had a lack of energy all day so I pretty much only got a couple small things done. I hope to fix that problem over the next few days so I can get things done this next weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I finished editing one more video for my future model railroading YouTube channel. I think that brings me to four. I want try to get to ten before I officially "unveil" it. Sent from my moto g(7) play using Tapatalk
