Nothing too visualizing interesting -- a Tam Valley dual Frog Juicer. Dead easy to install and wire in.
Nothing looks like coal quite like: I still can't get the Boyle Fuel Company (Spokane, WA) jingle out of my head after 50+ years. Every time I see, read or think about coal I hear, "When you need coal or oil, call Boyle" as sung by the Boyle Twins. Definitely will be the name of the coal dealer if I ever build one. Stay well
In today's mail I received 18 ft of back drop for future extensions to the layout and also a package of push button switches for a new control panel I am building.
All , As of two days ago here's 2 of my latest purchases, not sure what I'll do with the SANTA FE Shell. Tom
I've recently started using this stuff and really like it. I learned early on though that if you use an airbrush even the airbrush ready paint can require a bit more thinning than what is in the bottle. I like that it dries fast and less susceptible to over handling unlike testors enamels but it is more brittle and the colors may be off by a shade or two which is noticeable if you are touching up existing factory paint jobs. Not their fault though on that last bit but you will need other paints and match the exact colors yourself to blend them. As an example I have many BNSF locos I am detailing and the BNSF orange is a perfect match for the FVM locos but the Kato is a little lighter from the factory so I have to mix with a tiny amount of red and black to get it to match. I like that acetone/nail polish remover is an excellent cleaner and readily available/cheap but for thinning their paints I use Tru-color thinner which can get pricey.
Nothing sexy, just essential. Insulated Unijoiners. Went to LHS. It's been at least 3 1/2 years since I've been to this one.Very little N scale but lots Märklin HO and Z. Tons of war gamer stuff and more little vials of paint than I've ever seen.
I took a page from RRay's book and ordered some 0.9mm OD brass tubing for light fixtures. Will get a set of small round-shape pliers next.
Hi Olypen, this is one of those cases where it a beauty that looks like it’s going 100mph when it’s standing still. That is, literally standing still every few inches and over turnouts on my 40 yr old DC layout. not the best runner, but I was expecting that. Spookshow’s locomotive wiki has been invaluable in learning the ins and outs of these and knowing what to expect. In this case, the drawbar needs some work to get consistent electrical pickup. I’m planning to improve the pickup, drop in a new DCC sound decoder, keep alive, and led lights.
Been wanting to post this for quite some time, so here goes... Received MT Penn Central Heavyweight set yesterday!!! Had a TERRIBLE time finding this. I owe Point353 several beers for pointing me in the right direction !!! The four coaches will represent the PC "Dummy" train, riding behind my recently painted COVID project PC DL109 #716. The baggage car will be part of a PC mail train. Seems very few get excited about Penn Central anything, but I'm one of the weird ones. LOVE this set !!!
OK now it is official I purchased the 2019 Kato Operation North Pole set. https://www.katousa.com/Kobo/ONP2019/index.html I cant show you all pics of the train at the moment as I don't currently possess it, I wont until sometime in November or December.
I Pre-Ordered the extra cars from the solar system series from Micro-Trains. I got the Moon, Dwarf Planets, a Milky Way Galaxy Caboose and a lit Haley's Comet. They will be here next year.
Received a set of CMW 1954 Ford Hi rail trucks. 100_0727-2 by John Moore posted Oct 11, 2020 at 2:48 PM
A few items showed up over the weekend. Apparently my lighted Neowise car and a couple of other small things shipped separately and show due later in the week. Didn't realize there was so much glare when I took the pic. Those GHQ bull dozers will make nice projects later when the weather turns cold and nasty.
