    Hello spezialists,
I need your help. I'm planning to put a saw mill on my layout. Naturally with track connection. Unfortulately there is not many space on the layout. So I need to know the absolute minimum radius for log cars before I start building. Today I have no log car for tests so I cant find it out mayself ...

Thanks for your help and a happy new year !!!
    Daniel

    BTW
Next sunday a friend will meet me with his digital camera. Hope to post some pictures soon [IMG]

Daniel, I am not familiar with N scale log cars, but in HO, the general rule for minimum radius is whatever radius the locomotive can handle, then almost any 36 or 40 foot freight car can handle , too.
Do you know yet what locomotive will be used with your log cars? [IMG]
Happy New Year and Best regards / Mike

Mike, for this area I like to run small locos like the RS-2 and GP7. I think the SD80's or SD90's need too much space.

    Geeps and RS's look better anyway :D :D :D

I dunno how long those cars are, but 40-50 feet cars will turn on just about anything. Cars longer than that might need more radius to look realistic, but will work on tighter curves ( most of them will ).

Daniel, the log cars will be fine on whatever radius those locomotives will run on. Will this be 9" radius ,or smaller ?
Have you tried the locomotives on a smaller radius than 9" yet ?
