Wow, great layout you have there!! Love all the little details everywhere and the subtle weathering of all the rolling stock, with the exception of the "varnish". Thanks for sharing!!
Hi Guys, Here is a link to a video of the fascination model railroad exhibition 2019 in Mannheim Germany of the Z track with the complete round about the layout of the US Z Lines Europe from the point of view of the train engineer.
These videos are just what the doctor ordered for this "new to trains and committed to Z" modeler. Thank you, thank you , thank you all.
Clearly all the great z layouts are in California. Thanks for sharing them with us. Amazing stuff. Jim
Z-scale meet up in Germany last weekend, YouTube film shows high lights. Mostly European layouts, but also a very nice US themed layout starting at 13:55. (I wasn't there but I like the video - not so much the music though ) cheers, Matt
Some nice layouts. But I prefer a steady camera instead of this shaky running around..... And why do many trains run like bullettrains???
I’ll venture a guess as to why many of these trains are running rather fast. There is less likelihood of them getting hung up and stalled somewhere due to lack of power and momentum through “imperfect” track transitions. I believe most of us like to run scale speeds and slowly but you have to keep an eye on these little locos at that speed. At a show with distractions and wanting everything running continuously the higher speed would help. The most realistic trains I have seen at a show used multiple AZL engines with traction tires and DCC control on a huge layout to allow running at scale speeds.
Nice modules, love the harbour and the wide curves in the second halve of the video. Listen to the kid at 3:24'' "Dad….." (dad gonna have to buy his son a trainset!) Matt
Surreal Z... Or - if you get bored with your layout, make it a filmset. This German Z-scaler has a vivid imagination and posts many a clip, featuring "Anton Zett". This one I like the best - German comment but one figures it out pretty easy. Theme: search for cheaper train travel options... Btw, look for the many Shorties... Cheers, Matt
