Well the N scale layout is no more . I sold off some stuff but did keep my best locos and cars . Now I am working on an HOn3 layout in the same space as the old N scale layout . Its just a loop with passing siding and 1 spur bot I am going for a more highly detailed layout than I have attempted before . First pic is the track before I dropped the feeders and second pic is after I finalized the grades. Next two pics are of ground goop , 1/2 scupltamold , 1/2 vermiculite , some white glue , and light tan laytex paint to tint it . Tie weathering And finally static grass and trees. Still have lost of detail to add , and another 100 or so trees ....
Mike, you definitely have my attention!!! Your layout is headed to be a great one and I really like the amount of trees. Joe
Thanks guys ! I got a bit more done today , I'll have to take some pics tomorrow with the good camera ..... The roadbed is a product called homabead , it's a homasote product and is bendable like cork . Couldn't find HOn3 cork roadbed everyone was out .......Mike
Working on the pics , but I did have the winning bid for another Blackstone K27 . And at a fairly good price !
Awesomeness! Your 463 looks quite a lot like the real one, too. Here's the prototype at Osier, CO in 2017:
You are making me want to do the same thing, but with #340, and a modified version of the Pacific Electric Stanton station.... The wife would kill me if I started modeling another scale, so I will live vicariously through you.
Thanks ! Well Been a while ! I've been working on a Durango Press water tower kit . The things are not easy to assemble !
That looks very nice. Yeah, the leap from plastic easy to assemble kit to craftsman is a deep chasm to cross.
More work this past month , added some small trees/bushes And added a couple homes and a station Next up will be some Aspen trees and more brush .....
