Hi Everyone, it's been a while since I posted here. A long while... anyway, last year Ron Marsh of Ron's Trains N Things hosted a weathering contest that required entrants to not only weather two models, but to make a video to show how that process worked. I decided to give it a shot, and ended up winning the contest. It kind of whetted my interest in seeing if I could do my own YouTube Channel that was specifically devoted to painting & weathering. I launched the channel about 9 days ago, and already have two new videos up, along with the ones from Ron's contest. Here's a link to the playlist, which should start with the first video, and then you can move on through to see the second. I plan on having the third video up this weekend. I've not nailed down a regular posting day yet, but I should settle into one soon. Anyway, I hope you find this informative. I'm currently building a "weathering basics" playlist of videos that at least gets me started. Once that is done, I plan on going into more detail with various aspects of painting & weathering. I'd be happy for any topic ideas that people might have. Cheers, John
I'm trying to get into a rhythm of having videos ready to post for Thursday-Friday. I managed to do that this week. Fourth video is up, covering the third step of the weathering process I outlined in the first video.
And building up the library further, I move on to a basic-but-effective technique for simulating chipped paint on your models:
