I discovered yesterday that the WiThrottle App can as control turnouts, something that doesn’t seem too widely publicised, and the manual on there website doesn’t say much. However it does say: “If there are no turnouts (or routes) in the list, the control screen is hidden in the app” which is probably why I didn’t realise it existed. It also talks a little bit about setting up the turnouts in JMRI. Now my question is two fold; 1) Has anyone got WiThrottle turnout control to work with DCC++? 2) If so did you have WiThrottle talking the DCC++ base station or were you running JMRI as well? One of the things I currently like about WiThrottle is that it talks directly to my DCC++ base station for locomotive control and I don’t need the laptop connected for basic running (I’m running Mark Underwood’s modified DCC++ code) having to have it just for turnout control seems a bit overkill if I can avoid it. Only works with JMRI having the turnouts setup in JMRI and can operate the turnouts with the DCC++ also.
Thanks, looks like I’m stuck with the laptop for now but will definitely look to run JMRI on a Raspberry Pi at some point in the future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
