Welcome back to the station. I have the AC cranked in here so it's nice and cool and while the donuts are still fresh, both the coffee and tea are now iced. Welcome back, how did you do this past weekend?

Saturday: I started my day by taking care of Jess, my railfan Jeep. She got a brand new set of A/T tires to match her lift and now she is ready for some railfaning. I had planned on working on her as well as the yard too but we got hit with rain, so off to the shop I went. I wish I could tell you I got so much done, but sometimes it is the simple things that take the longest. I finished the area around Murphy Manufacturing and got the area ready for the airbrush. Next was the sheet polystyrene for the service station. Since the foundation of the gas station is resin, it took a lot of sanding to get it the same height as the polystyrene sheet. I also had to cookie cut the station into the sheet so it looks seamless. Well this "simple" part took all day Saturday and before I knew it, it was time for dinner with friends.

Sunday: The sun came out and I was able to get the yard done and finally work on Jess. I also smoked a whole chicken in my new smoker. As such, with domestic duties fully engaged, I never even got upstairs to the modules. Looks like a lot of late nights the next few nights!

So how about you? What did you get done? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 20th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a good week, stay cool and as always...

    High Greens!

Have a pair of truck frames ready to paint- later today. Making certain Shapeways stuff is clean enough to paint... But hopefully by this evening they will be underneath a gondola project.

Made a bunch of small trees on Friday. Sunday had a family issue pop up so nothing done. However I’m hoping to get the stuff done today needing done. Otherwise nothing will get done for the next two to three weeks as vacations and work will get involved.

Did mostly get the things done that I had planned on.

These are the pair of 3D printed drop bottom trailers that are for the Barite crusher / loader in Battle Mountain. I assigned a couple of tractors to them, one is a GHQ and I don't know what the other one is. I made mud flaps for them which are shown in the foreground of this photo. I still need to finish some tail lights, maybe add some reflecting strips on the sides, and a bit of weathering.

Got the batch of poles all done including the ones I made a bit taller to clear going over the tracks. Also added the Tichy grade crossing signs at all the crossings that did not have any. In this photo where the road to the fuel distributor crosses the spur track both the poles and signs are visible. The three middle poles are the ones I made taller. Looks like I did not get one of those in very straight. I also added a post on the layout blog about the grade crossing signs. http://palisadecanyonrr.blogspot.com/2018/07/upgrading-crossing-safety.html

And got the section house kit mostly finished. Shown here sitting temporarily in one of the locations I am considering for it. I don't like the roof that came with it and am planning to replace it with something I printed myself.

I was also able to get some ebay listings started

Saturday: What a crazy day. In the AM - when it was still relatively cool - I primered the articulate chair cars (For the Lark) - the I changed the oil in my wife's car. - Then --- I lost all motivation, and, slept on and off all day. Weird!!

    Sunday:
As on Saturday - first thing in the AM - I sprayed the light gray on the articulated chair car set. Then I got the lettering and striping done the first 3 cars.

Next -- I will start adding the grabs and stirrups.

Hope Y'all had a great weekend!!

Come on man! Just tinker with something and it will turn into progress you didn't expect.

I ran out of rail joiners but was able to get some of my small yard pieced together.
