Hi group, I am after the dimenions of the Bachman Diesel Fuel and Sanding Facility when assembled. I plan to use this structure on my layout but have no idea of its dimensions when assembled. Your help would be appreciated.
Before you get dimensions Mick you might want to try and see if you can get one of these kits. I have been unsuccessfully tyring to purchase one ever since our weekend in May. If you locate one let me know. ok i found it on the Bachmann site [ 05 September 2001: Message edited by: Colonel ]

Paul and Mick The Walthers website shows a different model here http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/160-15162 eNjoy Don B
First model shown is the fuel facility, second is the sanding facility. I believe in N scale that they are sold together, but in HO they are separate. Don't hold me to that though.
Corey, they are indeed seperate kits. Those ladders with the safety hoops are a real pain in the uh-huh.
Paul, I have good and bad news. Firstly the good news is I manged to get one from a mate in Brisbane who had one unopened he had brought, but it would not fit on his layout. The bad news is he only had one. Catt, Have you also got one completed. I think they look great. As Paul alluded to, my mate Roger has one on his exhibition layout, the layout I was posting pics of earlier in the year and the layout Paul and Gats came to Brisbane to run on at the 3 Day Exhibition. This is heavily modified to fit on an exhibition layout, somewhat shortened in length, and devoid of the sanding towers. I could not find dimensions on the instructions or Box I have, thankyou all for the help.
It comes as one kit in N. About $14 at a local shop. Bill
Don, The sanding facility you have posted is exactly what I'm after, Catt if you could find one I'll send you the money buddy
I have the same kit as Chesapeakenscaler posted, it is the biggest PIECE OF CRAP!!!!! I only needed the walkways from it and they were all damaged. They either were cracked or warped, if I was not going to be putting them inside of a building they would have been totally useless.
Guys. I'm pretty sure we've had one of those kits hanging around the hobby shop for months. I will make sure tomorrow when I work. If'n one of you guys want it, Email me and let me know. I will pick it up and send it to you for whatever the price is plus postage. I guess first come first serve is in order here. I need to know by friday the 7th. as both me and my computer are going to the hospital for surgery on monday. I'm pretty sure when I'll be coming home but I don't know when my computer will.
Hey, thanks. After re-reading my post I think it might look like I'm having my computer removed from some remote place on my body. Rest assured this is not the case, although many times I have wished that Hewlett Packard had it up theirs.
I ordered the sanding facility through Walthers via grandads hobbies. I paid $9.00US plus postage. I'll let you all know when I recieve it. Thanks to Catt for the offer to look for one and thanks to Mick and don for sending me the links
I looked today at the shop and wouldn't you know it, it was gone. Oh well. next time I won't shoot my mouth off so quickly.
I had one of those kits. Sucked bitime. All the parts warped when I glued them *sparingly, even*. All the parts were way too unprototypically proportioned. The safety loops on the access ladders were a pain to install... *plink, plink* How bad do you need one? Doen't NJ Int'l or Stewart Products make facility its like these anymore? I KNOW they'd be better in all the above mentioned aspects.
I received my kit today thans to Leghome and Catt it has traveled half way across the world I do however have some hesitations with the kit there are so many parts. Hmmm i'll let you know how it goes although I dont see myself building this kit for some time
hmm... google Bachmann diesel fuel sanding facility and this came up, I guess they don't make it any more in N scale. LOL any suggestions for modern diesel facilities?
