HI Folks: Planning to start LOOSELY Modeling the San Luis and Rio Grande, and I am wondering how their signaling system works. I'm afraid im not real up on how signaling works in general, other than colored lights are used to give indications of what the train should do (I realize to some degree signal posts are going away in favor of incab signaling and ATC). For my layout I want external signal masts with lights -- but I'll be modeling in the modern era Thanks TIM San Luis and Rio Grande
Tim, welcome aboard! I too know very little about SLRG, but having not seen any signals, I would assume that it's dark territory under train order control. I copied your question and will reach out to a Facebook group for a better answer.
Thanks a bunch, I suspect you are probably right, for purposes of my model, I'd like to use trackside signals, so I'll probably try to figure out some sort of protocol based on (I suspect) BNSF and UP rules, but I'm not sure TIM San Luis and Rio Grande
BoxcabE50 Ya, I kinda figured thats the case, I found a copy of the old DRGW Rule book that has signal info in it, and I'll use that as the basis of my system Have a great day TIM San Luis and Rio Grande
