I'm ok with that, I need to practice if I want to do a scratch build eventually. Thank you! Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
I'm confused. Why are they up front, I thought the point of a caboose was to be in the back? Were they accomodated specifically for passengers??? Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
Rachel, Fact is that almost everyone that rides a stem passenger excursion wants to be as close to the engine as possible, and many people love want a caboose ride, so putting them up front really combines a couple of big draws. Since it's a passenger train anyway, from an operational standpoint it doesn't much matter where they put the caboose. Up here in the north woods the caboose can also be in front between the engine and snowplow. I used to also see them on the front of log trains. That is 8' logs laid across the flat car for delivery to paper mills. Then the caboose doesn't have to be removed at each release.
