Just wondering if anyone has any info on the production of the N scale Turbo. Haven't heard anything for quite a long time !!!
If I am not wrong I think they are still taking preorders Till January For these . I myself ordered the Via rail and the Amtrak
They displayed a 3D printed sample of the train at Trainfest in Milwaukee earlier this month. It looked very good.
Rightly so. They look like they're coming along beautifully. Way out of my era, but I'm gonna find room for one all the same- too cool to pass on.
I'm very excited for this release! I hope the interior lights will get some more diffusion though, currently the two bulbs are a bit obvious. I plan on getting the early Amtrak version. I hope we will get some more production photos soon.
JMO....dont watch that video while wearing headphones !!! That ultra high pitched turbo noise is enough to make your ears bleed
The final location of the lighting has not been finalized yet. We don't have much space to work with, but we are going to do our best to diffuse the light better than in the video!
Beautiful model, both schemes. I think the longer CN version is really neat on the S-curves. It's a pity that B&M didn't have these back in the late 1940s.
You should try to find a way to implement the Gyralite lighting feature in the DC/silent versions. Richmond Controls, for example, sells a circuit to do that: http://www.richmondcontrols.com/special.html
Point is right. Picked up an SD7 several years ago that has it. (I don't know why, either !!!) It's a REALLY cool effect !!! I will eventually install these in my E units and bilevel commuter cab cars.
