Went to our local hobbyshop wanting to get some brass rod. All their boxes are empty, nothing. Went to eBay wind bought some .010 brass wire. Waas hoping for rod. Does anyone know where a guy can buy some?
I think the local hobby shop is dying. They don't restock.

    Thanks

Tower Hobbies has the full line of K&S stuff. Small order shipping is $1.99.

National retailers Hobby Lobby and Hobbytown USA usually stock it.

Last week I visited a HobbyTown not far more me looking for some paints. Not much with trains but they do have the full line of Model Master paints and I noticed they also have a good supply of K&S brass and some Evergreen styrene. It is a national chain so there may be one near you.

Ebay has hundreds of auctions for brass rod. Many online hobby vendors carry it. Even Amazon sells it.

Is there a particular size or shape you are having trouble finding?

What size rod? Some hardware stores carry it, or even have K&S. As well as checking welding suppliers, try your auto parts store, as many carry some welding stock.

We lost our Hobby Town store, sadly here in the phoenix area. I'm looking for .010 round rod. I can find wire, but I need the rod. We have some Hobby Lobby so will try them. Thanks guys. Already checked eBay and bout some they call wire, but is straight unlike rolls of wire.

Railnut49, you're in Phoenix? Hobby Bench on Northern or their bigger store in Glendale can help you. Good brick and mortar store for supplies and materials.

Found what I need in a craft store mentioned earlier here. Guess I can't mention it's name.

As long as it is a non-model railroad source, (not a hobby shop), they can be mentioned. Such an outside source does not compete as such with model RR stores, (brick and mortar or "etailer"), which advertise with us.
