I guess homage had to be paid. NS's CR Heritage Unit was in my region several months ago and it brought to mind that CR's birth was 41 Years ago. Amtrak is 46. To me, these are both "new" entities. Where have the years gone?

I've always suspected that all those lost socks will be returned in the afterlife. You can decide whether that would be heaven or hell.
I'm more concerned with a closer time. Early this summer when I order a new subscription with three extra copies of special issues. I got my September issue in a plastic wrapper with a an enrollment form enclosed giving something of a discount. Then came the October issue with the same offer. But my replacement subscription doesn't come. So much for Model Railroader I guess.
