Hello! New N-scaler here (although my involvement with N goes back to the mid-80s for me, and exposure to the early days of Arnold Rapido when my brother and i shared a circular layout pulled by an SF FP-9 and 4 shortie passenger cars Primarily model New Haven along with NYC, AMTRAK Northeast, and dabbling with Finger Lakes John K
Hi John, Welcome, Happy to have you on board. Not only are you in N-Scale, but you also are modeling my neck of the woods. I grew up in Bedford Hills on the NYC Harlem Division, just 15 miles from the Hudson Division, where my mother and I would watch engines change at Harmon, juice/steam. I also used to go to Stamford in the early 50's and watch the NH run EP-4s and boxcabs...beautiful. Jim (Fitz) grew up in Glens Falls on the Mohawk Division about the same time. So between the two of us, we'll be happy to fill in whatever blanks you might have, even if it is "ancient history".
Howdy do? A Santa Fe FP-9? SMH. Not that I can say much, I had an F-M C-Liner in the same colors. How did we survive all that misinformation we were fed during our impressionable youth?
Welcome aboard! I'm an HO guy but I do dabble in N and On30. N scale has enjoyed a huge leap in quality over the years.
