The short answer is depending on your setup unhook the programing track pin (you may have to fold it over before plugging in the shield) and hook the main track pin to both sides of the h-bridge (where the programing pin should go)
Is it egomaniacal to quote one's self? ....well one of my web sited is www.jennex.me and the other is www.DavidJennex.rocks, so I guess I answered my own question! Anyways, enough foolishness! I did for a fact figure it out! With the UNO and Pololu MC32926 Motor Shield, you only need to jumper Pin 10 to both Pins 7 and 8 th have both Outputs A and B to act as Mains. Mega with Pololu works the same with Pin 12 to 7 and 8. In essence this gives me two power districts when I don't need programming. It can be switched "hot" when using jumpers, but I will use a "break before make" switch. Now, my next trick is to piggy back two more Pololus - keep one board as a regular one main one programming outputs and th other two as two mains each. This will give me five power districts and a programming track not connected to the layout. Any suggestions? David
Hi guys Has anybody had any experience with the Polou VNH5019 12 AMP shield? I have always used a standard Deek Robot shield in my UNO base station stacks as I never viewed the small current increase of the MC33926 enough of an increase to make the change. Anybody? Steve F

This page tackles the 3 power shields they are using, the power requirements and short circuit protection for each and very good diagrams for various set up of the shields. Looks like Locoduino opted to not use the motor shield OR the Pololu. Seems he settled on 2 LM18200 boards and MAX471 current sense boards. Has anyone seen this put onto a shield? Also, did anyone do an efficiency/voltage drop test for that here: https://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/37192. I'm starting to lean towards this approach even if it means a little more wiring. What do you think? edit: Just saw another article on Locoduino that raves about the L9110S dual motor control board. It uses IRF3205 MOSFETs
I am one of the writers on Locoduino, and it's true, we prefer use the LMD18200 much more powerful than the others. The voltage drops shown in that link seem to be outside the spec for the L298P? It should not drop more than 5V at 2A. It suggests that maybe if the voltage drop is greater than 5V @ 2A, the L298P is not being driven hard enough to turn its transistors hard on? bobyAndCo has been impressed by this circuit. More powerful with 10 to 15A according to the model, 2 outputs instead of one on a LMD18200, and a nice PCB with strong connectors... All these great features for only 12€ on ebay ! A must have for him. And I am almost convinced when I read his article one more time !
