Need a bit of help! Picked up some 3 rail stuff last night, at railroad club meeting. Looking for a bit of help and information. 1. Where might I find the Rear coupler for a K Line ALCo S2? Have a Burlington unit, with broken rear coupler. 2. What's the correct tender for a Lionel 2026 2-6-4? The only tender available, was a 2466WX tender. And it needs a replacement truck! Someone previously, added a regular freight truck to the front of the tender. Where it's supposed to couple to the locomotive! Tender needs wiring work done also. Also snagged a search light car. Not sure if it works. However, until the wiring on it is replaced, I'm not even gonna try!! Wire is so old and brittle, that the insulation just cracks and falls off if you move the light, or trucks! Should be able to do the work myself, IF I can locate the necessary parts! And an original 1947 operating milk car! With cans! Granted 5 are metal, and 2 are plastic, with metal base so they fall correctly!
Some years ago I fixed the brittle Bakelight insulation problem of Dad's old locomotive by unsoldering one end of each wire and sliding shrink tube over it. Hasn't shorted out since.
I want to say Lionel bought them out. Sometime before the MTH lawsuit, I think! Not sure though. Article from Wiki: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/K-Line
Yes, Lionel swallowed them. Hard to narrow Lionel's search engine down, so there's a lot to search through. But you might stumble on a tender truck along the way. https://www.lionelsupport.com/Repla...ductID=&doAction=partFilter&q=coupler&match=0
