I had to replace the metal under fame on one of mine. It swelled up like it had the dreaded Zamak disease. I have never seen that before or since in a Microtrain car.

If anyone is interested, there was a guy on Facebook N Scale For Sale group yesterday that has three of these cars @ $20 each. There was a photo, and they looked right. FYI
So... I let the factory air out of the box about a year ago, milled the frame down, body mounted the couplers and finished it off with a few chips on the roof and some light weathering. Since the car would have only been about four years old in my era, I didn't want to over-do it.
