A couple of shots from about an hours run time this evening.

    Think I moved!

What remains of the leaves from the tree! Has been blow at least 3 times, and swept at least once!
If left untouched, there might be a good 6" of leaves! Give or take.

Nice. The real foliage is a great backdrop.

Would consider running a plow train now!!
However......I don't think the train, or plow would do much!
When I stepped out earlier, it was 20* with 6 1/2 inches of snow!!
Should make for an interesting drive to the hospital in Loveland tomorrow morning!
And NOT by choice, but by necessity!! I hate winter!!

Weather decent the last couple of days, so I set up and ran!
The GP40's and caboose Sunday, a 3 car freight train yesterday.
Supposed to be a bit warmer today. So, I may set up another train
and run, as long as it's gonna be nice outside!
Maybe again tomorrow, since it's supposed to be even better than today!
Gonna hit the 70* mark tomorrow, last I heard.

Around here, not doing much outdoors. Still a nice blanket of snow, with a LOT of ice mixed in. I doubt there is anyone running their garden layout, yet...

No snow here. Up in the mountains, yes. May set up and run tomorrow.
Not sure that I feel up to it today. Have an N Scale project I'm working on
for a club contest at meeting Thursday night!

And since Mom has Dafodills starting to come up.....we WILL get snow by
the time the plants reach about 2". At which point, they will be buried in snow!
That's how it usually works out here! And what gets Mom madder than he!!

Then again, the front will be swimming in color before we know it!
May try for the video of entire railroad, as I said I'd get, but haven't yet!

I am looking forward to seeing the expansion you were working on, heading toward the back yard.

It was supposed to be low to mid-forties here today. It is now 230pm, and we have barely passed the freezing mark. Talk is of freezing rain tonight. We have enough ice already. So glad I am an indoor hobby person!

I am too. When it's too cold to work outside!
Lower 50's here yet. Supposed to hit 70* or so
tomorrow! Think I'm gonna play, when I get back
from yet another check up on my foot in the morning.

Will have to clean track to back first, but that's maybe 5 minutes.
Just gotta make sure I can get a flat car to stay on track, if I try
to shoot video of the entire railroad.

Sounds as though you did not suffer the amount of damage this winter, as you did last year. That should be good news?

Has been an unusual year here. Was absolutely wonderful outside, when
I got home from the Dr this morning. So, I set up the GP40's again, with
6 cars and ran for about 2 hours.

Gave up about an hour ago. Need to finish up a brief description of an
N Scale contest entry for tonight's railroad club meeting. Hoping I stand
at least a slim chance! Gonna depend on how many folks enter in each category.

An update on that later tonight, in N Scale forum.
Hope to upload a few photos from today's run time, after meeting as well.
Just need to prepare for snow, at some point. Mom has plants coming up
already!! And when they do, it usually snows pretty good, as the flowers in
    question start blooming!! So......

I am jealous. This morning at about 745am, a near sheet of ice everywhere. High yesterday was 36, almost ten degrees below the predicted. We have had a cold and snowy winter. Where we were to get rain this evening, now they are saying possible snow. No flowers daring to show themselves here, yet.

From what I heard, briefly, we hit a record high for Denver today!
Didn't hang around long enough to hear what it was though.

    Rather disappointing night at meeting.
Didn't feel like sticking around, much less talking
about meeting contest. Major communication failure, because
contest person was NOT around at break time, to answer 2-3 quick questions I had.
So, I did what I had to: Packed my entry, and put it back in my truck.

    No more, after this.

    Another teaser, from yesterday!

Spent a good 2 1/2 hours letting train run.
Was a perfect 75* day. Warmest of Feb yet!

Possible nasty storm coming in Sunday sometime.
From whatever is left of the storm in CA now.

Found an MRC Control Master 20 power supply and walk around throttle today at Estes Park train show.
Can hook it up, and run my PA and passenger cars. Try and figure out why the cars pick frog points.
And figure out the best way to correct said problem! Been looking for one for a while! Since I traded
the last one with a friend several years ago!

Set up a short train yesterday and ran for the afternoon.
While the weather was still good! Other than 2 slight problems, I
    had a good time.

First problem, was the wind picking up. Blew a boxcar off the track!
Second problem, was remote batteries failing! Put fresh set of
rechargeable batteries in and continued running.

Now, rain/snow possibility today into tomorrow. And once again, I can
start thinking of how to proceed with a tunnel related project. Have an
interesting idea, after watching a Cajon Pass DVD at Christmas.
Going to look into the idea of a tunnel under demolishion!

Time to start getting ready to build!

Sunny, but looks like nothing is greening up, as yet for springtime?

Front yard, as of this afternoon. 4/9/17.

Looking up, from sidewalk. Green plants, a couple with flowers!

Spring is here? It's been trying to snow the past few days and nights. But this morning, a glorious sunrise! First in ages. If I had a yard, I'd be out there planning and scheming. :)

And with things greening up and blooming here, we can probably
be assured of at least one last nasty snow storm attempt sometime this month!
Moms flowers bloom, never fails that we get a decent snow!
Still waiting for one, but not really expecting anything.
Tunnel project can move ahead before long! As can lift a section of track, and continued ballasting.

Believe I jinxed us. The skies clouded and it was snowing until half an hour ago. Only sticking in a few places. Would have dampened my dreaming, were I an outdoors railroader.

It looks as though you should be starting expansion work very soon. :)
