The original Boston & Maine

Originally built in 1840 - 1874, this main line is the original B&M route from Boston MA to Portland ME. This picture was taken just a few yards from mile post 54.5 which is Newmarket NH. The original depot can be seen on the right. Tracks are goining north east.
