Cow manure from all over the Northwest is hauled in by special Oregon Western Lines' tank cars (tank trucks for local ranchers) to the G.U.A.N.O. facility, converted into a variety of useful products (including compost), and loaded into boxcars and hoppers for transport as far away as the gardens of Haight-Ashbury and Greenwich Village.
