this is a N scale layout built in my basement. Size.......... Main layout 16'-3" x 7'-4" Branch Line 9'-0" x 1'-7" A Railroad built for scheduled operation. All Locos & rolling stock fitted with Microtrains couplers. DC controlled,with one to three operators.It runs from the town of SHELBY to RITE CITY. Hence the name "The Shelby-Rite Railroad". Prototype.. Free Lance. Locale....... Somewhere in America. Period....... Steam to Diesel transition era. Style........ Centre well [Walk in access via gate]. Benchwork. L girder. Roadbed.... Cork on M.D.F. Track........ Peco flextrack. Turnouts... Peco. Min.curve.. 11" radius. Max.grade. 2 percent. Scenery.... Plastered paper towels over card strips. Plus polystyrene lift out sections,for access. Backdrop... Hand painted [By myself,with improvements by Murray Campbell] on 1/8th hard board. Control...... 4 DC cabs [1 tethered walkaround] Max No. of operators..... Three.
