That's practically a work of art. Amazing how some items can be recycled, MacGyvered or even Red-Greened into something useful and beautiful.
Raymondville, Texas in 1939. This was on the Missouri Pacific down in the Rio Grande Valley. Russell Lee photo.
How recently was this taken? I'm thinking I have seen a view were the unit was out in the open, rusting away. Sadly. Have they finally tarped her?
Taken today, former SAL depot at Camden, SC that's still serving Amtrak. Built 1937 with an eye to detail, the Seaboard wished to respect Camden's Revolutionary War history. The British won a major victory in Camden in 1780, but were driven out a year later.

Doorgunner, I'm loving your collection of photos. Please keep them coming. BTW, I have often referred to myself as "The Old Curmudgeon."
John, definitely not too many. Matter of fact I lived about 20 miles NW of North Adams in Hoosick, NY 55-60 years before your photos, and went through Hoosac Tunnel riding B&M #6000, The Minute Man.
There is no limit to topic participation. Some folks might not care to follow along, if a flood of photos comes up suddenly. A few here and there works well.
