Regarding upside down photo's, this is a widespread problem . If you are using a Iphone hold it with the volume buttons towards the bottom. To speed up photo taking the camera dumps the image to memory exactly as it sees it, the orientation information is added as extra data called EXIF. You can read it with most modern image viewers ( I use Irfanview). The problem occurs when the display program ignores or simply doesn't know about this extra info and shows the image as it was recorded ie; upside down.
