How about the DRGW GP7/9 in the most popular paint scheme, and longest lasting scheme: switcher stripes and small herald! They actually produced the least seen scheme: switcher stipe with large stacked Rio Grande herald. Arrgh! I sometimes wonder how much research they do.
I would like to add that they do the GP30 with the large herald! I mean really, they did THREE RUNS of the small herald. How many of the same scheme does the average person need, especially when there is some variety available. The last run were the only Atlas Rio Grande locos I didn't get, just because I had enough look alike GP30s. I would certainly buy a set of large herald units if they make them, but if the last run didn't sell well I'm concerned that Atlas may have come to the (in my opinion wrong) conclusion that there is no demand for any more Rio Grande GP30s.
Kato had their chance to do the SD38-2 a long time ago, when they did the HO one. So apparently they have no intention of doing it. I would rather have Atlas do it anyway. I'm just surprised, because a lot more obscure models have been done. You could cover the USS steel roads in the original owners, which are fairly popular... but also cover many later big road owners, to satisfy the masses. It just seems like a win win to me, but... I'm still waiting. Plus, it would go with the EJ&E geeps and cab.
Seeing as how Atlas seems to be the only manufacturer willing to make N scale automobiles out of plastic, I would love to see them produce some late 60s sedans to load on all the nice new open autoracks that have recently come out or been announced. 1965 to 68 Ford LTDs, Chevy Impalas, Dodges, Plymouths, heck I'd even take Ramblers. As long as they fit the late 60s criteria and aren't so heavy that a carload of them weighs 5 pounds, I'd be happy.
I agree with ogre427, but extend the years into the '70s. As painful as it would be, I would even put FORDS on the layout !!!
Well, even if the thread was not started with track in mind, that is what I want to talk about. I want Atlas to make: Code 55 double-slip turnouts Code 55 3-way turnouts I know that Peco has these, already. But putting Peco code 55 turnouts between sections of Atlas code 55 track makes one realize why one is using Atlas code 55 track. The ties' spacing and size are just glaringly out-of-scale on the Peco track in that proximity to the Atlas track. So, please ...
I think Rapido might be our only hope for that. As for Atlas, I'd be up for any non-EMD first or second gen loco. Baldwins (Center cabs, baby-faces, one of those double ended CNJ engines might be too much to ask) Limas (Switches would be good) Centuries (C-430s would be awesome) U-Boats (U36b are my favorite)
Ah, your just sayin' that because Tennessee Valley Rwy. Museum has finally returned it to its rightful colors... So which version should they do? Before Dynamic Brakes or after?
Deeper wheel spoke details on the 4-4-0 like what’s provide with the out of production NZT detail kit for it. And then paint a few for the V&T. Baldwin S-12s
Actually I happen to collect TAG equipment, I graduated from Auburn and love the look of the paint scheme. I've often thought about modeling the TAG, but their operations were fairly mundane....no DBs per the period prototype please.
