Hi Charlie or other Admin. For 3-4 days now I get the " Sorry this page can not be delivered " .That alert from Yahoo or Google. But since I'm logged on right now I guess problem is at my end. I got in here by using Yahoo 'MRR forums' search, where scores of forums come up. Unless you can give me instructions on how to log on the way I have been, using permanent Tboard (is it ?) 'tab' at top of my lap top screen, no need reply. I'll assume It is something on my end you can't fix or explain how to. Thanks, Mark
yes with the new forum the old link does not work we are looking at ways to advising our members of this
Thanks Paul. So it isn't on my end after all, if you'r saying all the members are going thru same problem ? Yes ?
Appreciated, but I don't know what to do ..Where is the new home page link ? How do I update ? I'm not so savvy to computer steps .
You're going to have to 'splain that, Lucy. If I go to the "home" button, and click it......I get a Firefox warning for attempted page redirect. I select "allow" and it brings me right to the forum main page. You're trying to tell me the "home" button takes you to the new TB "home" page, when the forum main page seems to be it? So, if a person was to completely ignore the "home" button, and simply click the "forum" button, they save a step, get to the same place, and bookmark that? You guys could write a best-seller on this.
Well, I have 'splained it, numerous times now since we moved. The forums home page is our home page. Same as it was for many long years, in the previous version. When I click on "Home", using either IE or FF, it goes straight there.
Okay.....what is the difference on you computer (that doesn't protect you from redirects) between hitting "home" and hitting "forums"? I'm still trying to figure out what I may be missing. Hitting "home" goes to trainboard.com, which forces a redirect to trainboard.com/highball/index.php Which is where we are. There is nothing special about "home", other than a forced redirect to "forums"
Just so you understand, I ain't flipping you any poo. I am trying to understand the architecture of this new forum. Some of use purposefully have anti-redirect enabled, some it comes with the browser. I would imagine in this day and age, blocking redirects should be high on one's list of necessary items. Since the "home" button's url is something that doesn't work anyway, but has a built-in redirect to something that does, it's almost like it would be better if the "home" button wasn't even there. Ken, you really don't see the "home" to url "trainboard.com"? I suppose if you don't have redirect protection, it happens so fast you might not. Dave
There is no difference. As previously explained many times, we are up and running in a basic format. The list of things we intend to do is long and only barely started. Until such a point where our owner gets to it, that will remain redundant. Right now, other things are higher ranked for "must do".
I am now logging on here via clicking old TBoard (are they bookmarks ?I'm poor on computer terminology ). Then I click link for this. I guess this is what everyone does until problems are worked out..My input is I hope final colors will be macho railroadianic related and no dowel shapes resembling engineers with kerchiefs and such. Just railside objects, signals, water tanks, depots, semiphores, crossbucks, lanterns (you had). Good luck with the work you're doing....Mark
