Some news in German forums, Marklin is going to offer a Finescale Z model, the German class BR05 in the cab forward version (05 003). With coreless motor and brass shell, smells like AZL involvement or better their supplier, or?
or maybe their new management realized it's not 1994 in Z scale any more? Let us know when a photo gets posted. I'm anxious to see what the fine scale looks like. Mark
Don't have a picture of the Marklin offering but here is one on a different scale from Lilliput (Bachmann)
As much as I like the idea of Finescale and I like the prototype too, this is the worst choice Marklin could make. Everything that makes such a model Finescale is hidden under a shell! I would appreciate a BR 18.3 or BR18.2 or even a un-skirted after-war BR05...
Agreed. For the first Finescale Z-scale release, they should have picked something that would show off a lot of details. Can't say I'm willing to put out that much money for something like this example.
Some other pictures are in the Marklin MHI flyer incl. ones of the unpainted brass shell, to be found on their German Webpage. The picture above is not showing the real thing, the wheels look solid. That's quiet common for Marklin, too
