And you think your a train nut. Look at this guys creation. http://msnvideo.msn.com/?channelindex=7&from=en-us_msnhp#/video/ad5f5d50-bd8f-4f60-be69-4b6cb6337cf5 That is so cool.
Yes that is the owner of Rapido trains. There is a guy here in the PNW that lives in Sedro-Wooley which is about an hour north of Seattle that has a F unit cab with working light and horn in his basement. The house was built around the cab. I have never seen it, just heard about it. Talk about the ultimate train roon décor.
It works if you are single, but doubtful if you are married. Is he married? Or is his lady friend e-x-t-r-e-m-e-l-y tolerant?
She probably recognizes that in this particular case, trains put bread on the table and the bling on her finger(s)... After all, as much as he may have done this for the fun of it, it does serve as something of a marketing tool... we're all certainly talking about it, now aren't we?
I have always wanted to buy an old caboose and build a N scale layout inside of it. I would have a pot belly stove it, use the conductors desk as the dispatchers desk. I would try and keep the inside as close to original as I possibly could. I think it would be cool to have a layout in a caboose. The only thing I haven't quite figured out what I would do with is the cupola. Now if I could just win the sweepstakes to start buying up all the stuff for it. Ryan
Horn? Hook that up to the alarm clock. That would definitely wake up any sleepy teenager.:teeth:
The F unit cab belongs to Nick Muff, an HO scale KCS modeler if I believe that's who you guys are talking about. He used an Ex BN F unit cab, too bad there aren't more. I may just have to bring #802 home with me next time I visit the CG Interpretive center. :teeth:
She is E X T R E M E L Y tolerant, and also has a piece she wrote about it linked into the Rapido website Sent from my LG-LS970 using Tapatalk
Definitely looks like a great place to relax and maybe even do some entertaining. Perhaps find a way to fit a flat screen/tv in there that you could conceal when not in use? I might not every leave it that were the case! -HL
