Didn't someone mention that Bachmann would be releasing a DCC/Sound equipped 6-6-6-2 Allegheny Bass-Ackward this year... Okay... I couldn't resist the temptation. After-all... many of us have been pining for numerous totally new steam and diesel motive power for several years. With the economy having been is such a funk for the past 5 years... the 'alleged' improvement in economic conditions would mean that projects on the R&D blackboard at several manufacturers may be moving towards production later this year.
I'm reasonably confident that Superturbine Jason will have released shells for every single North American profile steamer ever made by the end of the year - if not the end of the month In all seriousness, the only pending new steamer that I'm aware of is the brass PRR L1 that GHB Int'l announced last year. Cheers, -Mark
Hmmmm... good point Mark. Maybe manufacturers should concentrate on making the mechanisms for Jason's shells. All we would be missing is the correct mechanisms for the models he's going to create... and the manufacturers wouldn't have to worry about which road names to produce.
Have not seen or heard of any new steam releases. Mark, that's a pretty good idea you have about Jason. As for what's new for 2014, I am still waiting for the oft rumored un-official release of Kato's FEF and excursion train that was due anytime during 2013. Carl
+10 Maybe have a mfr come out with a standard chassis design and various driver sizes that can be mixed and matched (and modified) as Jason needs.
Ah man you guys I'd better really get to work. In the plans for now is the infamous C&NW 4-4-2, and then a SP GS-1, UP TTT, UP, 4-10-2, UP Early Challenger and SP 4-10-2.
Well, unless someone releases the long sought after Montana, Wyoming & Southern 2-4-6-8-0, or perhaps a five truck Shay with passenger pilot and twelve bell options, (all of them wrong, of course), in Nn2 scale, I'll pass on buying anything.
Well, the year is young. The last few Bachmann releases caught me by suprise. I need to reprioritise or wait on the athearns biggies, thanks for the responses. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
There are onlt 2 steam locos that I REALLY want. 1-US Plywood #11 2-6-6-2T that was converted to a 2-6-6-2. 2-A NP Z-1 3100 class Ryan
You guys missed it. 2014 is the year for the PCM/BLI Pennsy M1. Or was that 2013, er, 2012, no wait, 2011. 2010? One of these years, you just wait and see.
Most of the time on therailwire.net if a steam thread is started someone always chimes in on how that engine should not be made and replace it with a PENNSY K4. Usually it starts an all out war, especially if Adam Drasko gets involved. Either way, its pretty obvious A K4 will never be made in N scale again. BOOM!!!!!
Got tired of waiting for something that wasn't either UP or ATSF and managed prior to my stroke to have built an Atlantic, a Twelve Wheeler, and a 2-6-8-0. Most likely won't build another at this stage of the game and those are probably my last builds and last steam.
