Yesterday I bought some cork sheet and cut and glued the first pieces of roadbed. Today should see the first sections of trackage laid! Starting with the curve at right hand end as this is the key to alignment of rest of tracks. This curve is 50cm radius, the widest I can use here.
Tracklaying started also turntable set into the board. Pictures later. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy SII using Tapatalk 2
Some of us are waiting to see the drama unfold. So what did you opt for track plan wise, an oval with a wye or a layout with no roundy roundy.
Decided on the one without continuous run, but with switches to the staging sidings instead of sector table.
Sorry, been busy fitting other important stuff in the railway room.. new refrigerator with some important contents
First bit of track in place around turn and first switch towards station and yard The track between the main line and the turntable is a possible location for the Museum Train 4-wheel coaches when not in use. Not yet fixed down.
Yeah it is a very nice area, especially now have some 'essentials' in stock! Beer, wine, coffee, tea, biscuits, etc. computer. Oh, and a model railway!
As well as the alcoholic beverages, I just ground up some coffee beans and put in a sealed jar up there.
Trackage, some fixed, some ready to lay, to check placement of switches etc. Not sure how long the yard tracks along the front will be. Strictly don't need to be longer than staging, but can also be used as storage. Three through tracks will be fitted with catenary, but the yard will not, so will be switched by diesels (sound fitted). There will be two tracks from the switch on the right hand track, towards the turntable which will also have catenary for electric locomotives between duties. The freight shed will be on a loading dock. One of the main things loaded will be lumber, which is still done quite a lot in Slovenia.
Wired up the switches which will feed power to the frogs on 4 turnouts this evening. Some to do at other end of station tracks then I can connect controls and do test running. Sent from my Samsung SII using Tapatalk 2
