I hope this isn't off topic. I saw this in Dale City VA and even though I'm not a CRI&P fan, it elicited a stop.
Wow! 33 years gone by and still seeing The Rock. Not much of any signs of new ownership either and in relatively good shape. Thanks.
A lot of years on that trailer. I wonder if it is in private use? Or still sees some revenue service?
I think it is some sort of storage. There is always a trailer parked there by the propane (outside a warehouse store) and they change fairly frequently.
Rock Island coach "Herington" was built from Union Station Products sides (which aren't as bad as I thought.)
The windows were done with Proto-glass. It was once sold by Railway Classics. My stockpile is about gone.
Roscolux photo filters also work fairly well, I've used #4315 Cyan (.5 Stop) behind the glazing of my passenger cars.
Not being much of a Rock Island fan, I still couldn't resist the urge to have at least a couple of locos. Got these at a fairly good price so now they have a place to do some switching on my layout.
Now that is an announcement an Illinioan can enjoy! Three of the four roads ran in my old stomping grounds. The Rock units look great.
That would make two of us, at least Maroon scheme is much easier to paint than the Black and Red scheme is. With that said, I have my set on order.
