vBulletin is the most popular online forum software. It is easy to work with and use. It's works properly with Opera and I have little or no problem with it unlike many other 'oddball' softwares used elsewhere. Problem is, the choice for these 'smilies' used here is terrible. I have to say these are without a doubt the worst looking 'things' I have ever seen. Silly, ugly, overly large. Uck! How about dumping these and use what just about all other forums that use vBulletin use??
I always go past the turtles with the hats and turtles that want to be pirates and the turtles with the red caps at the top of the smiles to pick the ones farther down the list. At least they look like turtles to me. So removing them would be OK with me. Or put them at the bottom of the list. I like the bears much better.
Why should I have to?? With just about every other forum there is no need to. If I liked them, why would I create the thread??
While I agree, I doubt you'll get anywhere with this. Criticism is a four-letter word on this board. Good luck though!
I don't know if I like them or not. I mean sometimes when I'ma real grumpy I usemad:, to illustrate it. Other times when I'ma excited or happybiggrin:, I use this one. When trying to make a pointwink:. But mostly I feel like tongue:, at the whole idea. What? What? What do you think? Oop's used to many and was aptly warned.
To put it very gently, a large portion of those smilies are confusing - we can't have that, can we? Imagine having to "mouse-over" in order to get the meaning of a smilie. :struggle:
If I may make some constructive criticsm. The code for the smiles contains standard smilie code within it so when you read say rick's post via tapatalk, you see followed by a partial code. It's generally best practice to try and avoid this.
Why is it such a request to just change the selection of the smiles to a more universal format? One would think the request was to rewrite the entire code for the forum. IOW's the forums owners don't give a ....
Then go to another forum if they bother you that much. You do know there's a "More" button on the first pop-up window of smilies right? :sarcastic: Anyway, last time I checked we're here for the hobby, not the smilies.
Tap a what?:mmad: I don't tap, I don't twitter and I don't blog. This is it and I could care less how it shows up elsewhere. Not my problem. I said gritting my teeth with a very tight GRIN! LOL
arghh: Smeriously, (spelling intended). Where else can you have this much fun.laugh: Ok, I quit. If you like them use them, if you don't...don't use them. Must watch those control issues and keep them in check. Live and let live.
