Here is what I got for Christmas. Thanks Elsie ( My wife )!! 3 new passenger cars. I renumbered and lettered them for the DAVP, and the name is not abbreviated. The hole name is written out as: Dunkirk Allegheny Valley and Pittsburgh , That’s a darn long name to decal letter by letter on both sides. I also put 15 passengers between the 3 cars.
I got an 80 dollar gift certificate for my LHS. My g/f basically did that to pay for my new Walthers Burlington 10-6 Sleeper and a set of Kadee #28's for it, the car is due out end of next month. Works for me.
Well, my wife surprised me with a new laptop, which I promptly uploaded all of my pics off of HER laptop. It now also sports a wallpaper of Frisco 4-8-4 4500. One of my sons got me a gift card for Amazon, which I mostly spent on a new train sim software game- the rest I'll save for downloading books to my Kindle.
I got a new watch, wallet, a Simon's Cat book, a cool sign, a big box of AZ Rock & Mineral ballast, and a D&RGW clock:
"Santa" busily searched the local Craigslist ads and found his and hers matching used iPads, so now I have another easier way of checking railroad sites including this one. Anyone know any cool railroad related iPad apps?
O Candy, So sorry... But you can always crush it and have lots of coal for the layout.... ya I know sis not help much... So Sorry....
Hey Candy With the price of heating oil these days, THAT is a nice gift...I could use a ton of it myself! Hope that you got something besides. Best wishes Jim
From my family (mother, father, sister and her husband, youngest niece and her husband, nephew) I got two pairs of relax fit jeans, pack of underwear, pack of T-shirts, two sweat shirts with hoods, a Christmas tree shaped candy jar full of chocolate candies (good to have around when my blood sugar crashes), a bronze cane to replace the Rosewood one I've been using for thirty years, a portable massage machine, a Gillette men's face and body collection (too bad there wasn't a new body in it. I could really use that), a box of European shortbread cookies, two Wal-Mart gift cards (Wal-mart gift card for $26, Visa gift card for $50). For myself I got two bags of flawed castings from Stoney Mountain Classic, an Aurora HO Scale Mystery Machine (Scooby Doo). I've yet to send off a money order for two Varney F3B dummy locos.
Here's a picture of my present: http://www.walthers.com/prodimage/0932/09320000015144.gif Yeah, not even a stock product shot. I can only just dream of it for now ;;
Okay you know I'm kidding. I got two pretty fleece tops and a sweet empire dress. But the best things were a JL Innovative Design KIT #351 Bertani's Billiards ! and JL's kit #421 Picorelli's Ice Cream Parlor. I had a wish list
I got from myself a 2-8-0, 4-8-4 J class, 3 heavyweights, 3 easy peasy light kits, TichyGroup water tower kit, some unimates and metal wheel sets. I must have been very good.
I received the book: Southern Pacific's Golden Empire 1954-1958. What a great bood. And- $50.00 to my local MRR shop- sweet!!! Merry Christmas, Wolf
All I got for Christmas and my birthday (just before Christmas) was tools for working on my bicycles. I did ask for them so I'm happy. No surprises other the the kick my butt cold that I got from the grand kids last weekend.
A Durango/Silverton T-Shirt from my folks. And a Canon DSLR camera from me, to me!! Best of all, I still have decent health. No more blood clot issues. Still have problems from time to time. But, considering the alternative, I'm not complaining!! Hope 2012 is just as good, or better than this year for everyone!
