Hi Gang, Hans and I got our first look at the upcomming Mikado 2-8-2 Steam Locomotive. We thought you would enjoy a sneak peek. As you can see, progress is good and steady. Looks like a solid 2011 release date. Enjoy! -Rob(A) AZL
Two thumbs up Rob. You are undoubtedly aware of the term 'chumming'..which is defined as: Chumming (American English from Powhatan[1]) is the practice of luring animals, usually fish or sharks, by throwing "chum" into the water. Chum often consists of fish parts and blood, which attract fish, and particularly attract sharks due to their keen sense of smell. Well, I think you get my drift. Z scalers are like sharks in that they circle the chum and when possible they 'bite' and they bite hard. I'm not saying your Mikado is fish parts and bloody, but your picture sure could be construed as chum, because I can see the Z scalers starting to gather in packs and they smell good stuff....... Yabba Dabba Dooooooo..............
Anybody want to buy a marklin mikado? Boy this is what I have been waiting for! Is the motor in the tender? It looks great! Any specific road names?
Hmmm, good question! Let me dig through this box from China via Norway... ... Hey, lookie at what I found! I do believe you're-a-lookin' for that big fellah on the left. (Heavy and Light Mikados should be out about the same time.) Cheers, -Rob(A) AZL
The mechanism for its time served Z well. That said, I agree, just in looks alone marklin cannot compete.
Rob, you are being such a nice guy lately, one more favor por favor........... Could we talk you into a side view of the heavy? Pretty please? OBTW, don't forget that Rob K and I really really hope you will do a Berkshire before we get too old to recognize what it is? I know I've begged before and you said to be patient, but that was yesterday )
Isn't it funny how the value of something can almost instantly diminish by a significant amount when something better comes along? Won't be able to give them away pretty soon...........
Rob, to get rid of them I guess you have to use the same technique as with some of your houses you are not 100% satisfied with...
I'm hoping for a set of WP heavies. Unless the price point is the same as the Tenshodo. Then I would get more than a set. Looking good so far Rob!
Wow! What a wonderful pair of engines! These pre-production samples just remind me that I'll have to save some bucks! Although I'm in current era one of these beast will be useful for a vintage/railfan passenger excursion, as well as for freight runbyes! I'm holding my breathe! I'm in a hurry that they're available!!! Dom
