The one thing I like about the Zmod modules is that many are deep !!! Love all the bridges. Curn, that's a great looking layout. Can you bring it ot the GTE show Thanksgiving weekend in San Jose ? (same place) .
"Pinkville" slowly coming along. I found an old solid wood picture that was varnished, used it for a base, and glued down "the pink". Basic oval with a lead into a sawmill with a little mill-pond, lot's of tree's, Micro-Trains track and bridge, and the Milwaukee Road runnin' thru it! :teeth: More to come........
Kurt! Great to see you posting pictures! Mil Rd no less! (like there was a doubt) I like the smaller layouts. Pretty much all I've done is run my roundy round over the last few months. Glad to see pictures and can't wait for the progress!
You mean my Transfer table module? Almost ready to cut the hole to drop in the table. Just got my inspection pit yesterday. That will end up on one of the tracks. I will try to get it functional by Del Mar. Looking forward to using it to store engines during train shows without a bunch of switches. And Jeff M., it ties into my yard module so no switches on the main.
Ool Holy shnikesssss that's a nice tressel curve!!!! Beautiful work bnsf on the intermod!!! I've been away for a while but can not wait to post progress pics of my 8ft fortress type layout!! Ps why does everyone have an F7 but me . Does anyone have news on the E8s MT is realesing? Pss- don't forget to weather those tracks and paint those ties brown guys!!!!!
ggg which rail line was it? I'm looking for union pacific or souther pacific. Please reply back to me. I'm still very interested as long as it is brand new in box and you are located domesticaly. I really don't trust customs from japan. I have had problems when ordering out of country over seas as far as international customs not giving a @#$# about the customer and searching and destroying packages at will. No offense to you or anything but just let me know price with shipping, rail line, condition, and if passenger cars are currently available. Thanks tokyo! P.S and the fact that its been sitting there for months worrys me that no one else was interested in buying it either. Does this have something to do with the working process? Also how long would it take to ship to NY if I did go ahead and buy it from you. I can I secure it with insurance if so? Just very iffy about buying from a seller as far as you no offense to you or your country. Pss. I one time ordered a N scale Kato CSX double pack bridge and track kit as well as vehicles and a CSX sd-40 as well as a CSX gp-38 and when they reached my home the box was so destroyed that it angered me more then it pleasured me to finally recieve them after waiting all of a short 3 and a half months!!!! I open the box and 3 tracks were missing and the 2 csx were not properlly wrapped and smashed into a thousand pieces! Also the vehicles from Kato were absolutely crushed and broken. IDK what it is with your customs but if seems they are irrational when it comes to searching anyones damn package they desire. Not Cool!
Scenery! I had some spare time to relax and build a little today! Not too happy about the result with MTL track and ballast. Guess i should have handlayed it instead. The scenery is just basic right now, but i will add more life to it later, this is just the earthcolours. Looking good?
Folks... I apologize for high-jacking the thread. It's UP = UNION PACIFIC Matt... private, direct e-mail sent to you. I assume your yahoo e-mail address is still good? I also assume you lost all previous details from your previously mentioned computer problems? As far as your concerns... there are enough folks here and on Z Central Station that are willing to vouch for me. Thanks, Alex
Matt, I know the low down rattle snake sidewinder, cheatin, lying no good rascal. Wouldn't trust him as far as I could kick him...) Want the truth now? Alex is a great bud to many of us and I will stand behind his name any day of the week. Many of us have dealt with him both in buying and selling. You can't go wrong working with Alex. He is a man of his word and will sell you 100 pennies worth every time you send him a 100 pennies and he expects the same. As to why he still has the UP and no one has purchased it?....... Simple answer....you had asked for it and Alex had set it aside for you and would not sell it to anyone else since you requested it. You also wanted something I had for sale months ago and you promised to purchase it, but then went silent. So, I guess the shoe is now on your foot.......will you come through as promised to Alex? Sorry Matt to be a little strongly worded regarding this buying and selling subject, but here amongst our Trainboard and ZCS family we taking people's word pretty seriously and depend upon each other to be up front, honest, and communicative. Your silence was/is not easily understood. Here's hoping you were just tied up, sick, or distracted. Good to see you back on the forum......now, go get that set from Alex like you originally intended to do. Loren
I another member of this group who vouch for Alex have purchased several items from in the past and he is amongst the regulars here. cheerz Garth
Matt I have known Alex for many years and have done alot of buying and selling and tradeing with him. Alex is a U.S citizen and Air Force veteren who lives and works overseas, just as a few other members here on Trainboard and ZCS do also. I have never and i mean never known Alex not to be 150 percent honest in everything that we have done between us. The shipping from japan alex uses has taken no more then 7 days on any of the packages he has sent and there has been no problem with custom at all. If alex has one fault... its in the amount of stuffing he uses in the packages he sends me.. THERE TO MUCH OF IT!! So Matt, go for it!! and enjoy your new set of locos. Steve aka "Sluggers" :tb-cool:
Matt, No worries, Alex is an upstanding z scaler. I also have done business with him and I highly regard him to be honest and fair. Chris
3rd time's a charm? Started with the simple idea that she could run her Z Christmas train around the base of her miniature Christmas tree. Since I could just be satisfied with giving her a simple oval I thought I could spice it up with a bit of elevation two oval tracks. Well trying to use turnouts to connect the inner and outer ovals at slightly different heights didn't work out so well. So next was more of a dog-bone design folded onto itself, with the idea she could have a area for a Christmas village and a hill top for the Christmas tree. Unfortunately the idea for doing the elevation changes didn't quite work out the way I wanted and the track separation didn't allow for a nice visual transition. Up to revision 3 of the wife's Holiday layout, in so many years. While still the same basic idea as Rev. 2, changed from trying to run one end of the dog-bone within the other. So here is my progress over the past week. The area to the left will have a 13" finished wood circle installed for village diorama. Next shows the base of the hill used to cover the tunnel. The top of the hill will have another piece of finished wood. The idea is to have something along the lines of MTL's Micro-Seasons. Then she can redecorate it through out the year and I... I mean she can run trains year round. Thinking a valley here on the backside, with the Pratt truss bridge. Finally a look at the clearances. Still lots of work to do. ~Paul
Paul, This is a great idea! My wife always wants a holiday display but I never thought of the dogbone trackplan with space for two villages or a tree and village. Can you tell us how big the entire thing is edge-to-edge (dimensions in feet). Russ Meier
Yikes! After posting that last response to Paul, I looked up and saw "Age: 40" under my post. Egad -- where does the time go? Russ Meier Milwaukee, WI
Paul, nice scenery transition. The tunnels and bridge are in good location with the foamed up area begging for a tree. .
