I think its safe to assume railroads are still building America today. Even a subtle description could make pretty much any photo a "Building America" photo.
Grampy submitted a photo that was the sole entry a few weeks ago. At this late stage, with no 'takers', I will submit something that should at least pass for the theme. I show a yardman breaking up some concrete form mishaps at the base of a new water tower. The Yard Master wants this cleaned up and looking good for the Division Head's inspection next week. Sorry, it is all I have on short notice. I wasn't even going to enter, but ya can't have a contest without a single entry! -Crandell
I don't know why, but for several weeks now, I haven't seen the contest announcement post until, like, Monday. I'm usually on the "New Posts" page, and it's rarely more than a page long... Not that I've been in town enough to take any modeling pictures lately... summer is travel-busy... I'm really enjoying watching the great photography, though!!
Nice photo and scene, Crandell. Although our new puppy is keeping us pretty busy, I managed to capture this shot of a Reading GP7 pulling a load of coal at Blackwood Coal co. Coal was, and still is, a critical part of building and powering this country. DJ.
Here we have a brand new Mikado hauling a train of freight off to new horizons across the American landscape.
Keeping America warm The leaves are already starting to change, which means winter isn't far away. As if on demand, this load of coal is departing for some unknown destination, perhaps to keep someone warm this winter, or to light the long, dark winter nights.
We got a good group of entries so far! Still room for more! Tracy, those trees are amazing! Is that the shredded air-filter method?
I've got to remember to check back for these contests! anyways, my vote is in, but nice entries by all of you
