Maybe as soon as next year. Phil Anschutz certainly has the money. This was in the Denver Post: http://www.denverpost.com/ci_15187227
This will be interesting to watch, and I wish them the best. However, as one critic observed, its market is limited and may be reluctant to spend that much during current international economic conditions. IIRC, the American Orient Express had a similar business plan, and was successful initially. Though after its limited customer market had been there and done that, the AOE called it quits due to lack of bookings.
Yeah, there is just a small market for this kind of business. I wish them luck in finding it and being able to make a profit from it. I was fortunated to be able to ride the AOE once.
This could make for some unique rail fanning opportunities. It would be nice to capture a different passenger train passing through Colorado.:thumbs_up::thumbs_up::thumbs_up: Ben
The only problem with railfanning, myself included, is we don't pay anything into keeping the train(s) running and profitable, and being retired on a fixed income, I darn sure am NOT a member of their "Limited Market".....:tb-wacky:
