Watash's wife Jan informed me that he passed away tonight at 7PM Texas time. God rest your soul, my friend. :tb-sad:
This is very sad news; a class indivdual that you don't encounter all that often. But glad he did not suffer too long. God Bless he and his remaining family He will be missed Glen
I never got a chance to interact with Watash. Nonetheless, its clear he was a great part of our community. Rest in peace Watash.
God must have had a question about railroads that he couldnt answer. He has the answers now! Plus some great stories from a great guy.
My Prayers are with you all I did not know Watash, I am new here. I will be thinking of you all, his friends, his family, and this time of sorrow, of letting a friend go. My prayers and thoughts for you all Tim Sr.
True indeed! As painful as it it to loose someone, it's reassuring to know his memory lives on. I didn't know him personally--only through Trainboard--but he always provided insight and was a valued member of this community. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Maybe a sticky tribute photo/best quotes page is in order?
While my heart feels heavy, I am thankful that his end days did not linger more than need be. I only knew Wayne through trainboard as well but even through his numerous posts here on Trainboard, it was clear Wayne was a man of great character, wisdom and wit. He will be sorely missed.
I only knew him briefly from his posts here. Nevertheless he was clearly a good and kind man, and a great resource for our hobby. I will miss him, as I am sure will many.
I am truelly saddened by this news. Wayne has been with us from the start and will not be here to celebrate our tenth anniversary. He has been ill for a few years so now he will be at peace most likely giving pointers on repairing some of those model locomotives in the sky. A true friend lost indeed
