Some great work on display here! I love the detailed steamers and the centerbeam loads. I just finished decaling a Maxi-III "short stack" well car set from N Scale Kits (over 220 separate decals...o2pz: A bit of touch up paint and light weathering and she'll be done.
Nice looking cars! I've finished my loader for the GEHAMS club. This loader will be sitting on a siding at Lone Rock on the way to Trona. It's on a spur across the main from the aisle, so I modeled just the loader. With the exception of a couple of people doors, the whole thing in scratchbuilt.
Looks nice Gary! I've got a couple of these cleaned up and ready for assembly, but that will have to wait until we get back from Japan. I'm not looking forward to decalling...either they are anything like a Maxi-III to do...
Thanks James. When you do get to the point of decalling them, I highly recommend the set by HelveticaRR; the printing on my copy was very high quality. There is a link on the N Scale Kits page. Really nice workmanship on that loader Art! Please post a pic when it is off your workbench too. Nice Soo unit Sandro - I especially like the underframe/truck weathering. You really nailed the color.
N scale shelf above my work Bench to hold my locos This is my latest project, a shelf for my N scale projects. Positioned just above my work bench. This will also serve as a brake in track with a train control system that allows the loco/s to go back and forth on both tracks. I've decided to go the scenic route with this project so it can also be regarded as a diorama. I've molded some rocks last night and have glued a number of them to the base of the shelf. Hopefully I can complete all the rock work by weekend.
Here's another angle of the N scale shelf diorama Thanks Flash Blackman. Here is the shelf from another angle.
Kitbashing T.H.E. Wife an observation car for her Sexcursion train...:tb-wink: Still gotta find my junk box with my railings etc in it. I know I have some caboose railing in there somwhere. Thinking of cutting out the ugly gate and putting a door in there. Will still need to make some steps too. But so far... T.H.E Wife loves it. :tb-cool: .
I'm making some good progress on my Burlington O-4 Class Conversion from GHQ. I have no idea how I'm going to paint this though..
Ekk, those two pictures aren't very flattering. Here's two better photos: I'm building this up as the Worthington version of the Burlington O4. Also, I applied the commonwealth trailing trucks which according to GHQ, CB&Q's #5508 was the only Burlington Mikado to have those trucks.
I added more parts today. Only 3 more railings to put on and the engine is complete. Then I have some more work on the tender yet. Here's my workbench. And here's a close up of the front end.
Awesome job Mark! Man, when I look at the details needed for steam, I'm glad to be modeling diesels! Mike
Working on a C30-7. I've been holding off detailing one of these hoping Kato will re-release them with better handrails and a DCC frame... but I got tired of waiting. Mike
Hey Mike, Now you've gone and done it.... Kato will be re-releasing them next week. This is the secret to re-releases or new models. Start detailing or finish scratch building a particular locomotive! LOL!!! Enjoy, Wolf
Looks good Mark! How did those commonwealth trucks go on? Model Power doesn't have them available, and I really need on for my Soo Line Light Mountain. I'm getting desperate for ideas!
