Terrain begins for the right hand end of the layout! This glueshell hill is the start of it. You can also see the road base curving down the hill and under the bridge. I need to fill in the gaps between the road and hill and then add a layer of plaster. It a mess right now but it'll come together. And I did edited up this.
It's looking great envirodude, thanks for the information about building the dirtroad. Jacques
More great stuff! Let's remember, Enviro's 16! I have 30 years on him and I wish I was this good. You've got a great modeling future! Keep it up!
Thanks man, keep it up I will! Today I uploaded this: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_wDPxDe68I"]YouTube - Two trains on the door layout[/ame] Enjoy!
As a matter o' fact, I just put in this new siding today. I still have to tweak it a bit and put roadbed under the siding. I should paint those warehouse windows as well!
Got this hill in over the last few days. It still needs some touch up plaster work before paint and scenery. I also used this plant that I found in a field to model some bare brush or saplings. I should probably paint the branches though. An over head view!
This just in, I moved my layout to a different place in the room. Before it was wedged in a alcove in the wall. This prevented me from accessing certain bits of the layout. So I pulled it out and plopped a table under it.
Looks really good!! A couple shots, to me, looked darn near real! A couple of quick questions though: 1. How long has it taken you to get to this point? 2. What track are you using? Didn't see it mentioned, and I'm just curious. Again, Great work!
Thanks Mystere! Kieth, I started this layout February 1st 2008. But I only started making real progress since last summmer. If I had a job I would probably be almost done by now though, waiting for odd jobs to pay for things takes up time! My track is Micro engineering C55 flex track with Atlas C55 turnouts. I prefer the ME track to Atlas flex because the spikes are smaller and the ties are a bit longer.
Reading this tread over the last few days has given me some insperation to build a small layout in a corner full of boxes. Now, just where do I put the boxes...?
