Geez! $10,714.82 for two MTL boxcars? He even says in the listing that the factory air is missing from the boxes. This guy's eBay handle is "tetsuuma." What an idiot . . . uh . . . wait a minute. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kadee-Micro-Trains-Blue-Label-2-Northern-Pacific-Boxcars-NIOB-31170-22177-/271826262898?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f4a1b9b72 APRIL FOOLS!!
Arr Arr Arr!! Aw crum. You got me. I clicked on the link before I saw the big "APRIL FOOLS" at the bottom of our post. The description clued me in. I hope someone bids on your offering. (-: Brian
I don't take checks. I've been waiting a long time to do this. I don't know if anyone remembers me saying I wanted to someday list something for $52K, just to be the first listing when orders by Highest Price First. Well, eBay wouldn't let me list them for $52K so I went about as high as I was allowed. I hope I get some comments. I'm entertaining offers over $40 for the pair with free shipping. Everything in the description is true.
Sell them as a unit. Figure out what you want per car times the total number and start the bidding war there. Things are selling on e-pay for unbelievable prices. Some good and some bad. You can do the same thing here in our Swapmeet and see what develops. The best to you. On another note. Tank cars move in and out of cities to all kinds of industries. Maybe it's the base for cleaning products, distilled water for a battery factory, corn syrup for a salsa plant or candy factory, oil and gas to a oil company/distributor to the local gas stations and other ideas I'm sure they will come to mind once the creative juices kick into gear. At this point in my life I wouldn't get rid of anything I have. I worked to hard to be able to collect it. That is.... until such a time as the Dr. says I have a limited amount of time left in this old world. If you get my drift. Have fun and best of luck with your decision.
LOL Gold Diggers everywhere I turn. Just remember the only fool here is the buyer. You pay that much for any piece of model railroad equipment and I have a psychiatrist for you to see. Never mind a bridge or two for you to consider purchasing.
It does put my listing at the top of the "Highest Priced First" section for N Scale - Micro-Trains. Maybe I should add, "Will consider all offers over $44.44." I think everyone here knows me enough to get the joke but it's almost like a study seeing how people not in the know (or who missed the "Up for auction and just in time for April Fools Day" line in the item description) respond.
Well, I went to the bank this morning, but they'll only loan me $9999.99. So as I can't bid, I'm taking that money for a brief vacation to Tahiti. Ha ha ha.
I'd give you a really good TrainBoard special discount that would still leave you enough to go to Tahiti and paint.
In a related story... http://sacramento.craigslist.org/atq/4955348899.html I assume shipping is not included.
Oooooo. Looks like the roof walk is still on it. This should be at a RR museum, but I doubt the asking price would go well.
Yes, but it's "rare!" "vintage" etc. Even if the seller didn't use exactly those words. Maybe "out-of-production"?
