Okay - heres another - RARE - nah - maybe a tiny bit, but in search at least 3 show up recently sold at $13. Also they say "2 buildings" in the title, but picture and describe only one. $24.95 start price for two - ok, but for one - pass! http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-N-Scal...&otn=5&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=6168339486540071848
I recently scraped some old cork roadbed from a oNeTrak module I am modifying. Am thinking of putting this stuff up on that site. Surely it will spark a bidding frenzy. Maybe I should go reserve my plane tickets to Tahiti now.
BNIB Atlas trainman GP-15 in NS clothes. Makes me glad I got mine for MSRP a few years ago, because APPARENTLY they are rare and made of solid gold now. $160 bucks?!?! Well at least shipping is free. Ad says N-scale, no HO, no N scale http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atlas-N-Sca...643256?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item43abe3d238
Did you read the print below - these kind of sellers kill me "We ship approx once per week so please be patient with us. If you are in a hurry for a particular item, we will do our best to get it to you on time" I mean come on people - you cant put it in a box and wrap it up during the evening and carry it to the post office the next day???? So if I buy it on the day after you shipped, now I gotta wait for two weeks to get it - besides paying a ridiculous price for an engine in an Atlas box that doesnt even look like the right color of graphics on it??? Yikes :tb-wacky:
See the Life Like GP20 for $186? WOW! Guess they didn't get the memo about the firesale Walther's had a few years back. And $200+ for an Atlas GP30...wonder if they ever sell any of their train stuff?
Is that the rare gold plated edition? According to magazine ads I am seeing, these are coming out again soon. I'm sure you can get more than one for the price shown above on these newest releases.
If you take a look at all of their stuff, everything is marked extremely high. Makes you wonder if they the take the saying "There's a sucker born every minute" seriously? Of if they just have no clue what they are selling... The latter would be my choice.
Makes me think that the seller's wife yelled at him; "sell your trains!" and he said "fine, but if they don't sell I get to keep 'em." ROFL
Ooooo... You might be on to something there. I think all the guys had best all make a mental note of this idea.
Actually,if one calls the post office and advised them of the shipment the local carrier will stop at your house and pick up the package(s)..The USPS will send the Priory boxes to your door. You pay a flat rate according to the size of the box under-if it fits its ships method. You can even pay postage on line. In other words there is no reason to ship once a week by going to the post office.
You are right - I forgot all about that - there are several sellers who would benefit by that simple observation - for me, I usually avoid buying from sellers who will say they only ship on such and such days of the week.
I hate to wait for a package, but you need to realize that not everyone has a post office next door, or ships everything the more expensive Priorty mail. My mail man does not pickup packages at my door, if it doesn't fit in my mail box I need to put it in a Walmart bag and tie it to my box.
I hear you. I leave for work at 6am and get back at 8pm. I wouldn't leave a package outside that's supposed to be going to someone else. But I do ship on Friday, Saturdays and Mondays. During the week I am just too beat with too much else to do before going to bed. However, I don't sell much through ebay these days. Though If I am in a rush for something from Ebay, I make sure they can deliver on time before buying it.
Here is an interesting one. The price is fine, the description however ranks right up there with some of the greatest works of fiction ever. http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-HO-scale-...565480?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item2a19eca4a8 For those that don't know, that is an Ashlin Designs helix kit. Which are currently available in a multitude of sizes plus they will build to order if you want. Here is a link for an Ashlin Designs helix from them direct. Note the picture of the instruction manual. http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Scale-Hel...966632?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item256bd5d868
Oh My Goodness - what a shocker this one turned out to be! It started at .99 and I thought "oh cool - finally some scratch parts, I will have to watch this one" It ends in 3 hours or less from now, and is currently at $25 - what is going on these days? I mean wow and good for the seller, for sure, but thats a lotta dough for not exactly knowing what is in the 'lot', since the photo is not descriptive (all the stuff is piled in the box) http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170782639815&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:US:1123
Well, the case does say Early on it and we all know that is used as a code word for rare item. Easily worth the extra $100 plus.
All I can come up with, is that some one has seen some items in there that they must have to complete a project. Other then they are plain barking mad!
