I set some of the buildings that I made for the Rosenberg NTRAK modules out on my photo diorama for fun. Under the photo is an old shot of how it looked in the early 1960s.
Just running trains, switching at Third Street Industrial District. Remember, Model Railroading is FUN. Wolfgang
Russell, very well done...very convincing. Congratulations. Wolfgang, I don't normally enjoy the vantage from overhead shots, but this one works for me. I think a lot of the credit would have to go to the quality of your layout and also of the image, itself. Thanks for posting it. I may post an older photo later, but I have nothing new for this week. -Crandell
I have seen Russell Straw's Sugar Land modules; they are really neat. You can compare the modules to the actual Sugar Land photos of the time period. Really convincing and the locals who lived there say so, too! Here are my finished Atlas GP15-1s:
I finished remotoring and updating the drive of my Athearn SDP40F A unit and repowered the B unit with a Proto 2000 E unit chassis. Both run as quiet as any Atlas or Kato unit I've seen. I've yet to patch them for the L&A. I installed Digitrax DZ125 decoders in both units and acceleration/deceleration rates have been set. I found out through a bit of research that the SDP40F's used by Amtrak didn't have front handrails, so adding them to these units wouldn't be right.
Two PRR L1-s Mikados approaching the summit in the Monterrey Mountains. These Mikado were kit bashed with the GHQ PRR L1-s kits.
Wolfgang, your handlaid turnouts are absolutely beautiful! So breathtaking I barely noticed the switcher in the photo. Very well done, very well done.
smallbore3p, great coaling tower, I like the work with powder, looks good. I was in the basement, simple running trains. Here's the Harbor turn on its way back to Westport. Departure at Harbor District: Towards Westport, Plywood District in the background: Wolfgang
