Yes, Joe is a member here. He frequently post pictures of his work. Joe, I always thought of you as a great designer, master modeler, but never as a ferret who could type.
I Don't like bragging ) Joe, I always thought of you as a great designer, master modeler, but never as a ferret who could type. [/QUOTE]
Another nice interview John! I really like reading about these industry insiders, as it helps portray them as real approachable people, and brings us all a little closer like a big Z Scale family!
Nice interview, John and Joe. What work bench is that? Your bench is 3x as big with track and trains all over it ('cause that's the way you let us see new stuff by subliminally putting it just enough in the background to see if we catch it !) :wink3ed: And what's with the Texaco tanker runners pack? Not on the website and you usually let us know market anticipation well ahead (so we can keep, er, "save" our honey money). Don't tell me you let them take a shot of N scale stuff Great job helping Z scale become the hobby that it is. And tell Steve and all the machine shop folks making those pain in the tukas fine scale molds and also all of the assembly crews that we love em. All but the Plant Engineer that kicks you out. He has to go ! The only way I can bribe you is putting you up when you come down to BAZ BoyZ territory and plopping a put of curry in front of you. I can't quite get up to the :kiss2::girl_hug: level. .
Thanks Robert, I think that's the one thing I also like about doing these pieces, that is you find out just how helpful and friendly people can be. John Ztrains.com Ztrains: Z Scale (1:220) Model Train Layouts
and why is that? curious minds wants to know... That was an very nice interview with Joe. I have been scanning every pixel of his work bench and found a lot of interesting things hope they are all 1:220 scale.... Kim
I've had the pleasure of meeting Joe twice. Once at the 2006 NTS where it was quick and under pressure of the trade show (being a trade show veteran with Nikon, I know the hell that a trade show can be in trying to answer every question in 16-24 hours of show) and then when I had the pleasure of being a guest at the Bay Area Boyz meeting when Joe and Loren Snyder popped up. My work, in a rare instance of synchronicity, took me to the San Jose area when they were both coming in. I must say, the interview is similar to my meeting with Joe in San Jose. Joe's a passionate guy and this interview shows it. He faces many of the same challenges all of us in the corporate world do when we don't have the title of owner/president/CEO. Yet he is optimistic balanced with realistic and dead-on honesty. It's nice to see his passion come through in the interview and I thank both Joe and John. Kudos and keep up the good work both of you! Michael
Great article on a great guy. when I met him he was super nice and took the time to talk even though I was not what you'd call a train big wig. He as very freindly and with that I'll say I am very glad he is at micro-trains promoting our scale. Now if I can just get him to make those steammer again. or at least some tenders with electrical pickup...
