Check out this work from Christopher, he is a mechanical genius, here is something amazing he has created. http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13750&whichpage=15 http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13750&whichpage=19 http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13750&whichpage=21 http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13750&whichpage=23 http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13750&whichpage=26 http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13750&whichpage=31 You must see this video [ame="http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=8156962816497309594"]PBL Mechanism[/ame] Kim
Hi Jeff, Thanks for the book link. I will sure check this out, its always good to check out other people solutions. THIS IS AN AMAZING PLACE !
Still a long way to go... Here is the final point of no return, Put all the parts in. Here is the door Mechanism If you notice the small details, the door opens inside which is tricky to make it reliable compared to door opening outside. If the door opens outside the tape will stick better and will last for ever, if it opens inside the tape will peel over time, so there is a slit in the middle of the tape and two pieces of wood glued to hold the tape in place if it decides to peel. Here is the front of the door, nothing behind visible Kim
Inside the station with some people Outside before I put in people Glueing people to a thin piece of wire is a pain, I cannot do more than a few at a time. A quick run before putting in more people http://kimsartshop.com/tmp/Stn/StnPeople.MPG Kim
Kim, Hows about that station? I'm figuring you laser cut it, does it have a prototype? The whole scene should be amazing, I can't wait.
Trudging Uphill with minimal effort Still!!! Amazing progress Kim!!!! One step after another gets you that much closer to the finish line!!! It's looking Good!!!!! Hobo Tim p.s. I've seen those forum pages before, but that video of the Tree House Peanutbutter Lid Challenge was Phenominal!!!
Chris, I got a few pictures of different stations and made it up if you see all these stations there is something from each that I picked up
I had been working on bugs... Each time I power on the electronics the servo moves a little bit inherent property of the servo, one way around it was to pull the signal lines high which had its own problems, I'll spare the details, so finally implemented in hardware. I used the first chip to power ON the servos after a delay during which time the second chip pulled the signal lines high. ... The problem with servos moving a little bit was big it was closing the door and crushing people. Another problem was when the door is fully open the door was hitting the people going in circles so I cannot open the door fully, so much tighter space for people to go in and out of the door. Here I show the first lady going in and out of the door, http://kimsartshop.com/tmp/Stn/RightLadyInOut.MPG and the inside http://kimsartshop.com/tmp/Stn/LadyMech.MPG I needed people so painted some quick The rest was camouflaging everything inside Kim
A videos showing some fast moving people http://kimsartshop.com/tmp/Stn/FastSpin.MPG look at the lady in the left she moves with one of the links and gets very close to other fast moving people, I eventually got 6 more people for a total of 9 people moving as seen in the front window which should give it some random look. Need to add some lights and may be some static ceiling fans too. Kim
Very Nice!!! Kim, Progress is Good!!! It is hard to believe that this station is Z scale while watching the video. This is an amazing project!! Wow!!! Master of Animation, that you are!!!! Thanks for showing us the progress!! Awesome!!! Hobo Tim
Hi Kim, This becomes absolutely great ! I am anyway a fan of your awsome creations. I just humbly allow me the question if perhaps less people could make the effect even better, anyway if you put light at the right place you will have also moving shadows inside.
Armand, I was thinking of the same, too many people will make it look too crowded inside and one can make out it just spinning people. It is easy to pull out the people I'll do that last if it looks like too crowded from the outside. Kim
Started with the lighting today Made a PCB to fit 402 LED's in the slot cut in the station as you can see I was trying out different pens to see its properties for etch resistance, a simple sharpie worked well for PE. Here is a quick fit check of the PCB Kim
Kept adding LED's to increase the brightness over 45 LED's Not too happy with the brightness The black color seem to absorb quite a bit I just tried a combination of white and yellow LED's and the effect looked real good will do it some time during the week.. Kim
